Issue #22 - March 23, 2005 INSIDE:
So You're Going Global? -- by Wendy Pease, Rapport International, Sudbury, MA The State Department says that companies that did not export as recently as ten years ago now derive 40% of their revenues from international sales. If your company is considering going global, heed two suggestions to be successful in exporting. The first is to find a good partner for each country and the second suggestion is to communicate in the target country’s language and customs. State of Incorporation -- by Matt Benson, Cook, Little, Rosenblatt & Manson, p.l.l.c., Manchester, NH One consideration for a new company is the jurisdiction where it should be formed. Even if the company is located in New Hampshire, it may be formed under the laws of another jurisdiction (most commonly Delaware). Employees are a Dime a Dozen, Right? -- by Delise West, Human Resource Partners LLC, Dover, NH Some turnover can be healthy for an organization, but if a constant employee churn is occurring at your business it’s time to examine why and start focusing on how to retain your employees who are the key to your business’ success. After School Program Sells Flowers The pots of cheerful daffodils, narcissus, and hyacinths now available at Hannah Grimes Marketplace are not your ordinary fragrant spring flowers. These flowers have been grown – and now are being sold -- by area school children for the “Many Options” program – an after school program for area youth in the 5th through 8th grades |
